Independent Contractor Update
Monday, October 5, 2020
We are committed to keeping you informed on a regular basis of the developing situation relative to the Coronavirus.
- Currently we have client opportunities for Independent Contractors (IC’s). However, in general there are fewer opportunities across the board for IC’s within the whole industry. Demand for opportunities is greater than the supply, so opportunities go fast.
- Uncertainty is the name of the game. No one can predict the future and with all that is going on right now, we expect uncertainty to remain a major factor over the next 6 months. As we all learned in March, things can come to an abrupt stop very fast. In our business world it all happened in 3 days. Therefore, if you see an opportunity that fits your needs, we would suggest you apply as early in the period as possible. This is especially true with our quarterly assignments. High demand and the real possibility that clients could stop programs abruptly, all work against a wait-and-see strategy. So, get started earning your holiday cash now, while there are opportunities! We have no crystal ball to determine what the future has in store for us.
- Stay Safe. It is each IC's responsibility to make sure that they comply with local, state or federal Coronavirus/COVID-19 restrictions. We cannot possibly keep up with all of the mandates being enacted at the local and state levels. If you have accepted or are considering opportunities, and do not feel safe or restrictions are in place which prevent you from completing an assignment legally, do not accept or complete them. We understand completely.
We wish all of you the best and we look forward to better times in the near future. Stay positive. Stay healthy.
Independent Contractor Update: PayPal!

WE LISTENED TO YOUR FEEDBACK
Effective June 1, 2020, our Independent Contractor Disbursement Policy is changing. All assignments completed on or after June1st will only disbursed through a PayPal account. This will be our sole method of disbursement and therefore we will no longer provide the option of a paper check or direct deposit.
As you are aware, we survey Independent Contractors on a regular basis to gather feedback on various issues. Providing PayPal as our payment process has consistently been requested. By making this switch we will:
- Require less personal information
- Simplify the disbursement process for Independent Contractors and Alta360 Research
- Give Independent Contractors more options on what to do with their money and what bank accounts are linked to their PayPal account
- Eliminate the need for Alta360 Research to provide a 1099 to each Independent Contractor who receives more than $600 per year in fees. PayPal will be responsible for providing Independent Contractors with a 1099-K, if required.
Do you still need a PayPal account? Please click here to link to PayPal's "getting started" help guide, or here to sign up for an account.
We are happy to make this change, so keep a look out for future feedback surveys from Alta360 Research.
Remember to check for opportunities often. Stay positive. Stay healthy.

Independent Contractor Update 04/23/2020
- The Question on everyone’s mind is when will things get back to normal? The key word here is normal. While every thing closed down over a very short period of time, we do not think this will be the case on the resumption of operations. Each of our clients will have to make this decision based upon their industry and their geographic footprint. Some client programs have never stopped and therefore, there are opportunities available right now. While there is a degree of uncertainty remaining, most clients are talking about resuming their programs within the next four weeks. We feel a lot of the programs will resume during May with a few holding up until June 1.
- What things may be different upon resumption? The world we knew before the pandemic is gone and the world going forward will be new to us all. Here is a list of things which could possibly be different.
- IC’s may be required to wear a protective mask either by the client or the government.
- Social distancing measures will most likely remain in effect. This could include standing/walking/sitting distance or the number of people allowed in a store at one time.
- Opportunities will be taken very quickly. There is not going to be a full inventory of opportunities as programs will be resumed on a staggered basis. Therefore, demand will be high with limited supply. A lot of workers have been displaced and the number of sign-ups on our site has increased dramatically over the last 4 weeks.
- What can I, as an IC, do right now? Take advantage of this downtime so as things are resumed you can focus on completing opportunities. This could include:
- Make sure your profile is up to date.
- If there are opportunities which require client certification, take care of these now. Then if the competition is high for opportunities you will have a greater chance of getting the opportunity for which you applied.
- Check the opportunity boards and your email often. We are all anxious to get back to work so people are going to be moving fast. For instance, if a client calls today to restart a program on May 1st, we will post these opportunities ASAP.
- Learn more about other industries and build your knowledge by taking MSPA educational programs. MSPA offers a wide range of learning modules. Right now, I believe they are offering some discounts. To learn more, go to MSPA Certification. By doing this, you will be eligible for more opportunities and improve your stature compared to other IC’s.
- What should I do if restrictions still exist in my area? We do 10,000’s of evaluations per month and cannot possibly keep up with all the fast-paced changes taking place in each state and local municipality. It is each IC's responsibility to make sure that they comply with any local, state or federal Coronavirus/COVID-19 restrictions. If you do not feel safe or restrictions are in place in your area, do not accept the opportunity. We understand completely. Safety first.
We wish all of you the best and look forward to better times in the near future. Remember to check for opportunities often. Stay positive. Stay healthy.
Independent Contractor Update 03/27/2020
Friday, March 27, 2020
We are committed to keeping you informed on a regular basis of the developing situation as it relates to the Coronavirus. Here is an update:
- We are open and still have client opportunities for Independent Contractors (IC’s). However, it is each IC's responsibility to make sure that they comply with any local, state or federal Coronavirus/COVID-19 restrictions. We cannot possibly keep up with all the fast-paced changes taking place in each state and local municipality. If you do not feel safe or restrictions are in place in your area do not accept the opportunity, or, complete the opportunity if you have already been assigned the opportunity. We understand completely.
- Posted pricing for opportunities. Some of you have commented on chat postings or emails about the levels posted. Pricing is established by the client. No client has offered any premiums based upon the current situation due to budget restraints. Please do not take it personally or think that we or the client do not care. This is not the case. If you feel the opportunity is not worth it from a safety or financial standpoint, do not apply. Everyone understands.
- Keep checking your emails and the opportunity board. We do expect to continue to have new opportunities as we promote supplemental programs for clients.
We wish all of you the best and we look forward to better times in the near future. Stay positive. Stay healthy.
